Miro Gavran: The Doll, translated from Croatian (Lutka) into German (Die Puppe), Vienna, Austria


MIRO GAVRAN U BEČU I VILNIUSU

Hrvatski književnik Miro Gavran idućih će nekoliko dana prezentirati svoj dramski i prozni rad u Beču i u Vilniusu.

U Theater Center Forumu u Beču 5.ožujka će biti premijerno izvedena njegova drama "Lutka". Prijevod na njemački jezik načinio je Tihomir Glowatzky, dok režiju potpisuje poznati austrijski glumac Hubsi Kramar. U glavnim ulogama nastupaju Adriana Zartl i Christian Strasser, producentica predstave je Carmen Wagner. Riječ je o jubilarnoj dvadesetoj premijeri ovoga Gavranovog teksta koji je praizveden 2012.godine u New Yorku, a od tada je premijerno izvođen u Sjevernoj i Južnoj Americi, Europi, Aziji i Australiji. Nedavno je ovaj Gavranov tekst objavljen i u Kini u antologiji istočno-europske drame.

Tjedan dana nakon bečke premijere, 13.ožujka u Kulturnom centru u Vilniusu Miro Gavran će promovirati svoj roman "Kafkin prijatelj" , koji je na litavski jezik prevela Laima Masyte, a objavila ga izdavačka kuća Ledikla Gelmes.

Taj roman je do sada objavljen na osam jezika, a svojedobno je za njega autor dobio Nagradu za književnost Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti. Dan nakon promocije, Miro Gavran i njegova supruga Mladena upriličit će književno-kazališni nastup za studente Jezikoslovnog fakulteta u Vilniusu, a potom će nazočiti izvedbi Gavranove komedije "Papučari" koja je već četvrtu godinu za redom na repertoaru Teatra Domino u Vilniusu.



MIRO GAVRAN IN VIENNA AND VILNIUS

In the next few days Croatian author Miro Gavran will present his drama and prosaic work in Vienna and Vilnius.

His comedy The Doll will premiere at the Theatre Centre Forum in Vienna on 05 03. Tihomir Glowatzky translated the work into German and the play is directed by the renowned Austrian actor Hubsi Kramar. In the main roles are: Adriana Zartl and Christian Strasser; The Doll is produced by Carmen Wenger. It's a jubilee, the 20th premiere of this play, which has had its world premiere in New York 2012 and since then it's been produced in both Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. It was recently published in China in the Anthology of East-European drama.

A week later, 13 03 in the cultural Centre in Vilnius, Miro Gavran will promote his novel Kafka's Friend in Laima Masyte's translation, published by Ledikla Gelmes.

The novel has been translated into 8 languages, and received the Croatian Annual Award by the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts. Day after that, Miro and his wife Mladena will have a literature-theatre presentation for Linguistic Studies’ students in Vilnius, and then attend Gavran's comedy The Henpacks which is on Theatre Domino's repertoire for the fourth consecutive year.
