Radiological Society of North America President Hedvig Hricak, M.D., Ph.D., Dr. h.c., an internationally recognized leader in radiology research and public education, received a lifetime achievement award from Croatian President Stjepan Mesic at a December ceremony in Croatia. Dr. Hricak is a native of Croatia.

Dear Fellow Croatian Americans: We have been asked from the Presidential Inaugural Committee 2009 Co-Chairs to invite groups and Croatian Americans to participate in a National Day of Service on Monday, January 19th which is a national holiday honoring Martin Luther King. The most popular community service events so far seem to be volunteering at food banks, senior centers, day care centers, homeless shelters and legal or medical clinics.
