Many interesting and good news. If you are in Boston, come to see Boston International Film Festival. One short film that I scored "The Barber of Kigali", directed by Jamie Cohen will be featured on June 6th, 2008. In the same article read about live webcast that we did in November 2007 between New York, Zagreb and Kuala Lumpur a lecture over Skype and phone with Jamie, Darko Zubrinic and myself. . An interview with me for Supreme Master TV will be on June 1st broadcast to over 180 countries and in 15 languages to start with. The largest exhibition of ceramics in the world happened in Rovinj, Croatia. My dear friend Dra¾en Vrdoljak passed away. Not too many people in the world had such knowledge of popular music. Svjetlana Kabalin and Sylvan Winds are consistent in their appearances, with good reviews.
 
The most prolific Croatian writer Miro Gavran had two premieres in two important European cultural centers. Bratislava, Slovakia and Krakov, Poland.The 5th annual Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival was held on May 9-10 in New York City. 
 
Ivana Zahirovię, Croatian flutist living in Germany, will be performing at the National Flute Association Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, on August 7-10, 2008. Sports is a great catalyst for world peace, because it is transparent as much as it can be, plus people connect through the game regardless where they came from and what they do or make for a living. At the game we are all together on the same spiritual level. It is very close to music. Read my interview for Australian Handball Association.
 
Croatian Cinema Today series going on strong. Now you can purchase Freedom from Despair on DVD & VHS. At the same time Brenda Brkusic has been named to OC Metro Business magazine's list of "Top 40 Business Executives and Entrepreneurs Under 40 years old."
 
The University of Oklahoma will conduct a year-long study on modernizing Croatia's weather service. Letters to Amnesty International and the Financial Times by Hilda Marija Foley have been published. Hilda is a shining example of the best of us Croatians.
 
Nikola Ba¹ic' is the author of probably the most beautiful monument dedicated to the Sun that exists on the Earth. The monument is placed in the city of Zadar. See in Forum the exhibition on Zadar's Sea Organ in France - still opened.
 
Croatian-American Day in Chicago always a good thing. Katarina Tepesh, promoted her new book, Escape from Despair: A Croatian Family's Survival, at the Histria American Women's Association. From Pazin to Paris - Luigi Dallapiccola's Opera Ill Prigioniero featured in The New York Times.
 
Stjepan Hauser performed for Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on April 23 with the great success. Robert Belinic' - Guitar performed in New York City on April 29th, 2008. I was there and the whole concert was very impressive. Young and talented.
 
Dr. Drago ©tambuk, Croatian Ambassador to Japan, was warmly welcomed at the Kwansei Gakuin University during his official visit to Kobe. One of the best Japanese choirs sang in his honour U Boj, u boj in Croatian language. Niko Dzapo will be racing for Team USA in China May 29 - June 1, 2008. Pay attention to this young man and help him race for Croatia.
 
A good man Leo Anthony Majich, age 82, was born July 17, 1925 in Los Angeles and died April 10, 2008 in Pasadena after a brief illness. Study the Croatian language in Croatia this summer. Sponsored by the Croatian Heritage Foundation, these summer courses allow people born outside of Croatia to learn Croatian language and culture in two intensive courses.
 
Melita Spahic Dance is a meeting point for dance, theatre and video artists, composers and musicians to share their passion. Croatia-based WHW named curator for 11th International Istanbul Biennial.
 
Charles Billich, outstanding Croatian painter living in Australia, created the Bing Mah Yong cycle of paintings for the needs of the 2008 Beijing Olympiad. So well received has this work been that his paintings are represented on a collection of 16 postage stamps currently in circulation in China.

Duje Draganja, the fastest swimming man on the planet Earth. Conquered world record on 50 meters free style in Manchester, England on April 11th 2008. The Croatian swimmer finished in 20.81 seconds. Two world swimming records are an achievement not even larger and stronger countries, than our “little” Croatia, can afford. But at this moment Croatians are celebrating and bragging with such achievements, thanks to Duje Draganja and Sanja Jovanovic, young swimmers who brought the world’s swimming to its knees.

Professor Vladimir Devidé, Croatian mathematician, is better known as outstanding Japanologist and tireless promoter of haiku poetry. Croatia is one of the most successful nations in haiku in the world, counting the number of prizes won at various international competitions. The World Parachute Cup Series returns to Croatia in 2008.
 
Croatia's Blanka Vla¹ię has continued her streak of victories and has become the world champion in indoor high jump in Valencia. She has added the indoor gold medal to her outdoor gold medal.. Arithmetika Horvatszka, that is the Croatian Arithmetic, was published in Zagreb in 1758. We celebrate 250 years since the publication of this oldest known Croatian book on arithmetic. It was important also for the development of Croatian scientific terminology.
 
Mother Teresa and Croatians.  Reinhard Grabher, a journalist from Salzburg, Austria will direct a documentary about Goli Otok. The documentary will include interviews with former inmates, including an interview with Josip Zoretię, author of Goli Otok "Hell in the Adriatic." Subtitles will be in Croatian, English, and German.
 
Simon Dale built a low impact woodland home in Wales. The house was built with a maximum regard for the environment, with few tools, help and cash. He has translated the entire procedure into Croatian and is available in .pdf format for those wanting to build their own low impact homes in Croatia or elsewhere.
  
The Croatian Constellation is happening. Yes you read it right.
 
We expect more websites to be part of this Croatian Constellation, but we talk the talk and walk the walk, slowly... and the synergy is great.

Tiny ceramics on show in Croatia reported by Chinese TV
More than 300 artists from 71 countries contributed to the Lilliput Exhibition of Ceramics in the town of Rovinj in Croatia. Judging by the number of countries it is the largest exhibition of ceramics in the world. In order to be entered, a sculpture must be less than 17 centimetres high and weigh less than a kilogram. Croatian Cinema Today at the Aero Theatre in Los Angeles May 16-18, 2008
Zivi i Mrtvi (The Living and the Dead), left, will be making its U.S. debut at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. It is playing as part of the Croatia Cinema Today series. Kristijan Milic, the film's director, and Filip Sovagovic one of the main actors in the film will be present for the debut. University of Oklahoma to conduct modernization study for Croatia
  The University of Oklahoma will conduct a year-long study on modernizing Croatia's weather service. A team from the school's Office of Weather Programs and Projects was chosen to undertake the $500,000 (€321,000) study to determine how to update the country's weather service infrastructure, which is left over from the Soviet era.

Leo Majich in memoriam 1925 - 2008
 
Leo Anthony Majich, age 82, was born July 17, 1925 in Los Angeles and died April 10, 2008 in Pasadena after a brief illness. He was a founding member of the Croatian American Association as well as the National Federation of Croatian Americans, serving several terms as its Western Region vice-president.

Sanja Jovanovię wins gold by breaking her own world record in 50m backstroke
 
Sanja Jovanovię broke her own world record on 50m backstroke swimming at the World Swimming Championships Manchester 2008, UK. Her new world record time is 26.37. With Duje Draganja's world record the other day this is one of the greatest achievements in the history of Croatian sport. They won two gold and two bronze medals, first time ever.

Croatian Superman, Duje Draganja, the fastest swimming man on the planet conquers world record on 50 meters free style in Manchester, England on April 11th 2008. The Croatian swimmer, wearing Speedo's LZR Racer suit, finished in 20.81 seconds.

Croatia Has a NATO Invitation - A Historical Day for Croatia April 2nd 2008
 

The fact that an invitation was sent is also a result of a process that began with Croatia’s  hard road to independence via the Croatian War of Independence in which 15,000 people gave their lives. Besides NATO, it is expected that Croatia receives an invitation for the EU soon.

Boris Dvornik was an amusing man, and he was very emotional; a man who was able to feel the sufferings and destinies of others. That was visible even while he was acting. That's the charisma that glows around him - a mix of warmth and authority.

Dalmatian klapa singing is a part of Croatian identity and being such is dear to us all. Our klapas know nothing about Italian people's choirs, and Italians even less about our klapas. That was unallowable hole and Josip Ganza was intrigued by and felt the urge to fill in.

Swimming success of Croatia at European championship in 2008
 
Gordan Ko¾ulj, Vanja Rogulj, Mario Todorovię and Duje Draganja won silver medals in men's 100m medley relay at the European Swimming Championships in the Netherlands. Sanja Jovanovię won bronze medal in women's 50m backstroke, and Duje Draganje silver medal in 50m freestyle.
