In a neat little house in Aberdeen, surrounded by well-cared-for shrubs and trees, lives Warren Mason (left), the man who taught Kurt Cobain to play guitar and to write music. The veteran all-round musician, guitarist, fiddler and violinist plays and teaches all styles of music from folk, rock and jazz to classical on every major string instrument except harp. Warren Mason was born into the Croatian immigrant community in Raymond. His mother was Bonita Medak whose parents Joe and Yerka Medak had come over from the old country.

Andrea Kulier who is only 17-years-old will graduate from California State Los Angeles University and attend Princeton in the fall to study cosmology. Kulier and her family immigrated to the U.S. from Croatia. While most in her age group are graduating high school, Andrea Kulier received dual bachelor's degrees and is on course for a PhD.

Annie Plenkovich, 17, went missing from the Missoula Public Library on Wednesday afternoon. Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 30's or 40's with thinning hair with glasses. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with an unzipped jacket, and a light colored T-shirt.
