Niko's dream is to represent the USA
As you may already know my son Niko has been very passionate about BMX racing. We just returned from Desoto, Texas for a ABA BMX National Race where he competed in a two bike class competition. He snagged a 2nd and 4th place victory in his class for the three day event. The most important part was to compete in the 2008 USA Cycling BMX National Championship qualifier for the 2008 UCI BMX World Championship which will take place in Taiyuan, China. This was a one day event to qualify for the World Championship (amateur/challenge class) and gain a spot on the USA team. The World Championship is before the Beijing Olympics which is slated for August. We did not think that he would have a chance to qualify for the 2008 BMX World Championship due to the overwhelming pool of talented BMX racers, but by some miracle he qualified to represent the USA. He is the youngest racer in his class (17-24 age group) to compete. The events are scheduled from May 29, 2008 to June 1, 2008 in Taiyuan, China. This has been a dream come true for Niko to represent the USA. He has less than 40 days to train and be ready to take on 30 other countries. His motto has been "keep trying, you have nothing to lose".
We are trying to put this logo on the USA jersey.
