» Miro Gavran's premieres in Bratislava May 16th and Krakow May 17th

Croatian writer Miro Gavran will have two premieres in two important European culture centers, in Bratislava, Slovakia, May 16th, and in Krakov, Poland, May 17th. Miro Gavran has had more than 160 premieres of his theatre texts all over the world, and his plays have been seen by more than two million theatre-goers.

The 5th annual Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival will be held May 9-10 in New York City. The Living and the Dead (Zivi i Mrtvi) opens the festival on Friday at the Tribeca Cinemas The opening reception starts at 6:00 p.m., and the screenings will start at 7:00 p.m.

Ivana Zahirović, Croatian flutist living in Germany, is invited to have a performance at the National Flute Association Convention in Kansas City, Missoury, USA, in August 7-10, 2008. She will appear with another Croatian musician living in Germany, Diana Grubić on piano.

Zivi i Mrtvi (The Living and the Dead), left, will be making its U.S. debut at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. It is playing as part of the Croatia Cinema Today series. Kristijan Milic, the film's director, and Filip Sovagovic one of the main actors in the film will be present for the debut. There will be a question and answer session, and a Croatian wine tasting sponsored by The Blue Danube wine company.

Nikola Bašić is the author of probably the most beautiful monument dedicated to the Sun that exists on the Earth. The monument is placed in the city of Zadar, on the Croatian coast, along with equally famous Zadar Sea Organ. This is one of greatest achievements of contemporary Croatian Art and Architecture.
