» Joza Vrljicak writing about Croatian Government Advisory Council for Croats Abroad
Mr. Joza Vrljičak from Buenos Aires, Argentina,  participated in the First Meeting of the Advisory Council to the Government of the Republic of Croatia for Croats Living Abroad, which was held in Zagreb on 18th to 20th December 2013. The Council was established by Croatian law in 2012 and it is formed by 55 representatives of Croatians from around the globe.

  Joza Vrljičak sent us numerous video recordings and photos concerning the Croatian Day celebrated in Argentinean capital Buenos Aires, in November 2013. It is estmated that there are about 300,000 citizens of Croatian origin in Argentina. Croatian community in Argentina is very active, espeically in the field of culture. Numerous Croatinas contributed in various ways to the prestige and wellbeing of Argentina. Probably the best known among them is Juan (Ivan) Vucetich 1858-1925, the father of the scientific dactiloscopy, that is, of identification by fingerprints.

Pozivaju se na aktivnu registraciju u Veleposlanstvu Republike Hrvatske u Buenos Airesu:  birači koji nemaju prijavljeno prebivalište u Republici Hrvatskoj, a žele se upisati u posebni popis aktivno registriranih birača u najbližem diplomatskom predstavništvu Republike Hrvatske (VRH Buenos Aires) kako bi mogli ostvariti svoje biračko pravo na izborima zastupnika iz Republike Hrvatske u Europski parlament. Pozivaju se na prethodnu registraciju u diplomatskim misijama i konzularnim uredima Republike Hrvatske u inozemstvu birači koji imaju prijavljeno prebivalište u Republici Hrvatskoj, a na dan izbora borave u inozemstvu. In this 103 (1986) issue of Studia Croatica, Ivo Korsky explains why Croatians struggle for independence and Ernesto Livacic writes about the living Croatian presence in Chilean literature. Three articles are devoted to the Venezuelan Precursor Francisco de Miranda (1750-1816) and his relation with Croatia, while Mateo Martinic writes on the Croatian immigrants to Chile (1919-1939). 96 pages, in Spanish.

The 1983 issue of the Journal of Croatian Studies was fully devoted to the most famous Croatian sculptor, Ivan Mestrovic (1883-1962). The volume features three texts by the sculptor as well as articles by Ante Kadic, Bogdan Raditsa, Christopher Spalatin, Ivan’s son Matthew Mestrovic, Karlo Mirth, among others. The volume has 216 pages including 36 plates.

Ante Kadic wrote about Marko Marulic, while Maja Lukac-Stier presents the main Croatian community contributions to Argentina. In turn, Ivo Boric wrote about the Croatian immigrants to Bolivia. On its first issue, the Journal, which is approaching its 50th anniversary, presented itself with the text "To Our Readers". There, the editors state that the Croatian Academy of America, established in 1953, had planned to publish a learned journal of Croatian cultural, historical, political and economic developments.
