Croatian pianist Loreta Kovacic and her group the Texas Slavs will be performing at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston on September 3, 2009 starting at 7:00 p.m. The show is called Immigrants Out There, and will feature songs composed by her.

Unprecedented and original spectacle in Maksimir stadium was thrown by Bono Vox and his good Irish lads of U2. Over 60,000 people sang along with the band for over two hours. Oh beautiful, oh precious, oh sweet  liberty - Bono Vox quoted 17th century Croatian author Ivan Gundulić  as per Nenad Bach's suggestion, to the delight of the sold-out stadium.

CROWN invites you to attend the Third Epiduarus Festival in Cavtat,  from  August 28 to September 22 2009. The Festival has been founded and is directed by infatiguable Croatian pianist Ivana Marija Vidović, on the photo. Cavtat is a lovely town south of Dubrovnik, on Croatian coast. In the Japanese city of Tokamachi and with the presence of eminent Croatian architects Vinko Penezić and Kresimir Rogina, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Japan Dr. Drago Štambuk and the Mayor of Tokamachi Yoshifumi Sekiguchi confirmed the decision of the City Council regarding the construction of Croatian House that would represent the focal point of Croatia-Japan friendship in Japan.

The Zagreb concerts of U2 are scheduled for August 9th and 10th. The 10th of August concert was sold out in just a few hours, so organisers and the band arranged an additional concert, for which you may still buy your tickets. The concerts are to be held at Maksimir Stadium. In 1995 Bono recited a verse written in 1628 by Croatian poet Ivan Gundulić:  O lijepa, o draga, o slatka slobodo... (O beautiful, o beloved, o sweet liberty...).

Republic of Croatia is scheduled to formally join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) together with Albania at a summit marking the bloc's 60th anniversary during April 3-4. 2009. The NFCA is pleased to have contributed over the years to this great accomplishment for the Old Homeland. May Croatia long enjoy the peace and prosperity that is a by-product of NATO membership.
