LADO Croatia’s Acclaimed Folk Dance Ensemble to Perform in North America

LADO's fall tour of the U.S. and Canada is the climax of the 60th anniversary celebration of the founding of the ensemble. Eleven performances are scheduled in eight cities, full-production concerts and choral concerts combined. The mission of LADO goes well beyond performing dances that have been central to Croatian culture for generations.

Croatian pianist Loreta Kovacic and her group the Texas Slavs will be performing at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston on September 3, 2009 starting at 7:00 p.m. The show is called Immigrants Out There, and will feature songs composed by her.

Unprecedented and original spectacle in Maksimir stadium was thrown by Bono Vox and his good Irish lads of U2. Over 60,000 people sang along with the band for over two hours. Oh beautiful, oh precious, oh sweet liberty - Bono Vox quoted 17th century Croatian author Ivan Gundulić as per Nenad Bach's suggestion, to the delight of the sold-out stadium.

The project is aimed for children 3-6 years of age, to teach healthy children not to be afraid of a physician: doctors and healing are presented in a way comprehensive to children, through "healing" children's toys.

Project of Croatian house in Tokamachi Japan

In the Japanese city of Tokamachi and with the presence of eminent Croatian architects Vinko Penezić and Kresimir Rogina, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Japan Dr. Drago Štambuk and the Mayor of Tokamachi Yoshifumi Sekiguchi confirmed the decision of the City Council regarding the construction of Croatian House that would represent the focal point of Croatia-Japan friendship in Japan.

U2 legends of rock'n'roll are coming to Zagreb on August 9th and 10th 2009

The Zagreb concerts of U2 are scheduled for August 9th and 10th. The 10th of August concert was sold out in just a few hours, so organisers and the band arranged an additional concert, for which you may still buy your tickets. The concerts are to be held at Maksimir Stadium. In 1995 Bono recited a verse written in 1628 by Croatian poet Ivan Gundulić: O lijepa, o draga, o slatka slobodo... (O beautiful, o beloved, o sweet liberty...).
