4th International Antonio Janigro Cello Competition in Zagreb
 | Antonio Janigro, a famous Croatian-Italian cellist, was the founder and conductor of the Zagreb Soloists from 1954 to 1967. Winner of the 2008 international competition in Zagreb, held in Janigro's honour, is David Eggert, Canada, the 2nd prize went to Tian Bonian, China, and the 3rd prize to Dmitri Prokofiev, Russia.

Professor Mladen Vranić, outstanding Croatian scientist in Canada
