Professor Balthazar and Zagreb Film a Croatian trademark
| Probably the most famous Croatian professor worldwide is Professor Balthazar, a well known figure from Croatian cartoon movie series initiated in 1967 by late Zlatko Grgić. 4th International Antonio Janigro Cello Competition in Zagreb
 | Antonio Janigro, a famous Croatian-Italian cellist, was the founder and conductor of the Zagreb Soloists from 1954 to 1967. Winner of the 2008 international competition in Zagreb, held in Janigro's honour, is David Eggert, Canada, the 2nd prize went to Tian Bonian, China, and the 3rd prize to Dmitri Prokofiev, Russia.

Professor Mladen Vranić, outstanding Croatian scientist in Canada
 | Distinguished researcher and educator in medical sciences (endocrinology and metabolism) and former chair of physiology, where 85 years ago insulin was discovered. He earned the title of Honorary Medical Doctor from Karolinska Institute, Sweden. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a corresponding member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
