Looking for Croatian/English speaking person as a travel agent

..a Croatian/English speaking person who would like to work as a travel agent ( full time) at Vega Travel , who is not afraid to work and who is ready and willing to learn and take over once I am gone .

If you know someone who would want to do this kind of job and wouldn’t’ run away in a week or two and does have interest in this, please send them my way because I’d like to transfer my knowledge to a new person  This is a complex job and has many details to remember and it will take at least a month to learn basics and there is always something new to learn but it’s interesting and its fun and it’s never boring or dull.

Please forward this to whoever you know!

Thank you,

You haven’t heard music (or international relations) like this before.

GoodNews

11/30/2005
CONCERT TONIGHT 12/2 . Our interview with Nenad Bach, which you will hearhere, will introduce you to a type of music called Klapa music. Klapa music is profoundly stirring and beautiful. If you don’t know Klapa music, all you have to do is click on the audio link to the right to get a sample.

For iPodders or Mac OS users, the mp3 file is here (click on the word ‘here’ to download).

You can hear the music live at 8:00 pm, Friday December 2, 8PM, 2005, in New York City, during a concert sponsored by the New York Society for Ethical Culture. If you can’t be in New York City just then, we at Good News Broadcast and our broadband supporters Xstreambroadcasting.com are preparing ways to help you experience astounding performances occurring in places you can’t be.

This New York concert features the prize-winning Klapa Sinj, a group that has been one of the most revered singing ensembles on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia for over 20 years. Nenad Bach joins Klapa Sinj in their performance.

The location for the concert is Two, West 64th St & Central Park West, New York. Going to the concert will set you back $25. But if you ponder each dollar spent, think about a time spent getting to know some people from a place that you might never have encountered before. But most of all, savor the sounds of Klapa, a beautiful musical artform, the way you would appreciate an astounding bottle of wine, a masterful painting, or maybe even a smile from a long-time friend you have not seen for many years.

The prize-winning Klapa Sinj has been one of the most revered singing ensembles on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia for over 20 years. The group is a leading proponent of the extraordinary polyphonic vocal tradition known as klapa, an all-male vocal style heavily influenced by Italian harmonies and melodies. In addition to a cappella vocals, the ensemble will perform songs accompanied by Nenad Bach on guitar and piano, and musicians on tamburitza (lute), percussion, piano and bass.

Mr. Bach, hailing from Croatia, is a recording artist, composer, and performer who has recorded for Sony, Polygram and many other labels. Two of his albums reached No. 1 in Europe, and to date he has sold over one million records. In addition, he has performed all over the world with a wide range of artists, including Luciano Pavarotti, Bono & The Edge (U2), Brian Eno, Indigo Girls, Richie Havens, and many more.

Founded in 1876, the New York Society for Ethical Culture is a community bound together by belief in the worth and dignity of each person and a commitment to help create a better world. Ethical Culture is a humanistic religious and educational movement inspired by the ideal that the supreme aim of human life is working to create a more humane society.

Klapa Sinj & Nenad Bach USA Tour in a few words - part 1

Dear all,

Thank you for all your letters of kindness, compliments and emotional responses to The Tour. As far as I can tell from few reactions, this will be discussed for decades to come. This was the first tour that one Klapa took. Three concert halls in New York, Washington DC and Chicago. Three full houses and three ovations. Launch of a new World Music. Klapa Sound. Tours are exhausting and demanding, but Klapa Sinj as well as the crew that helped us along stayed together without one single incident all in harmony and joy. Looking at the photos (close to 5000), I am enjoying the moments that I couldn't at the time. On Wednesday November 30th Klapa Sinj arrived at the Newark Airport, via Air France from Paris.... I will continue this story later, but as of now, i want to thank everyone who supported us. All my Fans, friends in music, friends of Croatia and Klapa singing. To mention just few, I would like to thank Agrokor, Jana Water crew ( JanaWater.com ), Wold Music Institute, The Kennedy Center, Chicago Cultural Center, Ambassador of Croatia in the USA, Neven Jurica, the whole staff at the Croatian Embassy including Ms. Stetic, Mr. Babic...as well as Croatian Counsel General of New York, Petar Ljubicic and the staff at the Consulate in New York, Counsel General of Chicago Zorica Matkovic, Anthony Peraica (County Clerk Commisioner running for the Cook County presidency in 2006 - votetony06.com), Croatian Churches in New York, especially father Ivica Majstorovic and father Robert Zubovic, Jerko Petric. Father Damir Stojic from Washington DC, the whole staff of Croatian Defense Attache in USA and especialy their wifes , Danica Ramljak, Anne Pavlich, Father Jozo Grbes, Marina Zadro, Ana and Darko Petercic, especially Ivica Grgic and his webpage 011385.com for the continuous

Discover why everyone’s talking about Croatia

23 December 2005

Washed by the sparkling waters of the Adriatic Sea, Croatia is home to some of the most magnificent coastal scenery in Europe. Rich in history and culture, it is no wonder this secluded treasure trove is fast becoming the ‘hot’ destination for 2006. Travelsphere has introduced two new itineraries in their latest European collection with charter flights from Gatwick, Manchester, Nottingham EMA and Bristol airports.

A traditional 8-day break with accommodation on a half-board basis in the pretty resort of Rabac on Maslinica Bay costs from just £299. For a city break with a difference, have a look at the new 8-day break to the fascinating port of Dubrovnik, available on a half-board basis from £489. The old town has one of the most famous views in Europe, thanks to its celebrated medieval fortress, maze of ramparts, narrow streets, hidden squares, museums and churches. In contrast, Opatija on the Kvarner Peninsula has been a popular holiday resort since the 19th century and retains an unmistakeable air of grandeur with its seafront promenade, majestic gardens and lovely assortment of shops, bars and restaurants. The new 8-day break from £489 features 4-star accommodation on a half-board basis, a gala dinner and fascinating excursions in neighbouring Slovenia.

Further details can be found in Travelsphere’s new European Collection brochure for 2006, which boasts its biggest selection ever to Europe with over 146 great value holidays, 26 of which are brand new in 30 European countries. Prices start from as little as £99 for a weekend break in Paris, rising to £929 for a delightful 10-day river cruise on a full-board basis down the mighty River Elbe from Germany to the Czech Republic.

Several of the holidays featured conveniently include a local coach departure from over 200 towns and cities throughout the UK. The company has picked up on the growing trend for more choice and flexibility with holiday packages by introducing add-on and extend your stay options, hotel upgrades, included extras and special departures to festivals and events around Europe. The brochure also features a great selection of walking and activity based holidays, plus some exciting ideas by train.

The choice of new holidays by air is extensive. Take in the ‘Visions of Northern Spain’ on an 8-day 4-star break on a half-board basis featuring stays in Bilbao, Ojedo-Potes in the west and the pretty seaside town of Comillas from £499. Budget in advance on an action-packed 8-day tour of Tunisia from £599, featuring full-board accommodation at 4-star hotels throughout, lots of included excursions and a memorable journey aboard the Red Lizard train through the dramatic Selja Canyon. Discover Ukraine, still a relatively undiscovered jewel on a fascinating 8-day tour of its historic capital, Kiev and the breathtaking scenery around Yalta on the Crimean Peninsula from £759.

Kostelic Wins World Cup Giant Slalom
12.21.2005, 10:44 AM

Janica Kostelic of Croatia rallied on the second run Wednesday and got the first World Cup giant slalom victory of her career.  Kostelic, third after opening leg, covered the Cerna course in a combined time of 2 minutes, 21.30 seconds to win the first World Cup alpine race held in the Czech Republic.

She performed a particularly skillful cartwheel in ski boots in the finish area after she saw the last skier come down, then clambered over the barrier to kiss her father and coach.

"I guess this is proof I can win GS," Kostelic said. "It's a special feeling because when you wait for something so long it makes you so happy, but there is no time to celebrate because there's another race tomorrow."

Kathrin Zettel of Austria was second in 2:21.38, followed by teammate Marlies Schild in 2:21.40. Kostelic leads the giant slalom standings with 230 points, 40 more than Zettel.

Kostelic also is third in the overall standings. Michaela Dorfmeister of Austria leads with 502 points, 80 more than teammate Alexandra Meissnitzer. Kostelic is another 10 points back.

Kostelic won three gold medals at the Salt Lake City Olympics and has two overall World Cup titles. She also took the world championship in the downhill, slalom and combined last winter in Bormio, Italy.

It was the 22nd World Cup victory for Kostelic, a multi-medal favorite heading into the Turin Olympics.

The top American was Julia Mancuso, who finished 14th, 1:19 off the pace. Mancuso, the world championship bronze medalist in the slalom last winter, crashed in the finish area after the first leg but was unhurt. Teammate Kristina Koznick, fourth following the opening leg, dropped to 16th after making a mistake on the second run.

It was the first victory of the season for Kostelic, who had surgery on her right knee in June. It was the most recent operation in a career disrupted by injury and illness.

Kostelic finished runner-up in the season-opening giant slalom in Soelden, Austria, and fourth in Aspen, Colo. She also was second in the slalom in Aspen.

After undergoing three knee operations and having her thyroid removed, she missed the entire 2003-04 season only to come back last season and win three world titles.

Nicole Hosp of Austria was the fastest in the first leg but slipped to fourth after the second run.
