CONCERT TONIGHT 12/2 . Our interview with Nenad Bach, which you will hearhere, will introduce you to a type of music called Klapa music. Klapa music is profoundly stirring and beautiful. If you don’t know Klapa music, all you have to do is click on the audio link to the right to get a sample.

For iPodders or Mac OS users, the mp3 file is here (click on the word ‘here’ to download).

You can hear the music live at 8:00 pm, Friday December 2, 8PM, 2005, in New York City, during a concert sponsored by the New York Society for Ethical Culture. If you can’t be in New York City just then, we at Good News Broadcast and our broadband supporters Xstreambroadcasting.com are preparing ways to help you experience astounding performances occurring in places you can’t be.

This New York concert features the prize-winning Klapa Sinj, a group that has been one of the most revered singing ensembles on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia for over 20 years. Nenad Bach joins Klapa Sinj in their performance.

The location for the concert is Two, West 64th St & Central Park West, New York. Going to the concert will set you back $25. But if you ponder each dollar spent, think about a time spent getting to know some people from a place that you might never have encountered before. But most of all, savor the sounds of Klapa, a beautiful musical artform, the way you would appreciate an astounding bottle of wine, a masterful painting, or maybe even a smile from a long-time friend you have not seen for many years.

The prize-winning Klapa Sinj has been one of the most revered singing ensembles on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia for over 20 years. The group is a leading proponent of the extraordinary polyphonic vocal tradition known as klapa, an all-male vocal style heavily influenced by Italian harmonies and melodies. In addition to a cappella vocals, the ensemble will perform songs accompanied by Nenad Bach on guitar and piano, and musicians on tamburitza (lute), percussion, piano and bass.

Mr. Bach, hailing from Croatia, is a recording artist, composer, and performer who has recorded for Sony, Polygram and many other labels. Two of his albums reached No. 1 in Europe, and to date he has sold over one million records. In addition, he has performed all over the world with a wide range of artists, including Luciano Pavarotti, Bono & The Edge (U2), Brian Eno, Indigo Girls, Richie Havens, and many more.

Founded in 1876, the New York Society for Ethical Culture is a community bound together by belief in the worth and dignity of each person and a commitment to help create a better world. Ethical Culture is a humanistic religious and educational movement inspired by the ideal that the supreme aim of human life is working to create a more humane society.
