"Čitanje ulica i trgova" upravo zato može biti uzbudljivo i poticajno, pa pozivam svakog i sve čitatelje da se uključe u raspravu i da iznesu svoje mišljenje o tome kome bi trebalo oduzeti ulicu ili trg, a kome je darovati.

Reading Streets and Squares can be stimulating and moving for precisely these reasons. I call on every reader to decide for his or her self: Whose names should be removed from a street or a square? And who should be honored with the gift of having a street or square named for them?

Već sama činjenica da je od tri uobičajena pojma "domovina", "očevina (otadžbina)" i "majčevina" u hrvatskom jeziku i narodu prihvaćen samo prvi pojam, koji etiologiju vuče iz "doma" (staništa), a ne iz biološkog podrijetla (oca ili majke), ukazuje na vezanost Hrvata za prostor, tradiciju i kulturu.
Note that of the three choices, "homeland," "fatherland," and "motherland," Croatians chose the first, homeland, to capture the particular form of their attachment through language. The etymology of "homeland" is from "one's native land" not from one's biological roots (father or mother), and this fact shows how closely Croatians feel themselves to be tied to their regions, traditions, and culture.
