Brenda Brkusic and Jack Baric won Los Angeles Area Emmy® Award

Bloody Thursday, a revealing documentary about the struggle of the West coast dockworkers during the Great Depression, produced by Brenda Brkušić on the photo and Jack Barić, has won a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award. Emil Milihram Croatian canoeist wins the World Cup 2010 in Austria

Croatian canoeist Emil Milihram is the overall winner of the Wildwater World Cup for 2010 after he won a classic race in Lofer, Austria. In the overall standings, Milihram is at the first place. He is followed by Yann Claudepierre of France and Norman Weber of Germany. Emil is already for three consecutive years the World Champion in canoeing!

Greenwich Trio win at the Beethoven Society of Europe Competition

The Greenwich Trio comprised of Stjepan Hauser from Croatia, Lana Trotovsek from Slovenia (both pictured left) and Yoko Misumi from Japan won at the Beethoven Chamber Music Competition 2010 held on April 22, 2010 at Steinway Hall in London and sponsored by the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe.

Australian-Croatian Vinko Romanik featured on stamp

Vinko Romanik, was recently granted the honour of appearing on a limited edition postage stamp in recognition of the 200th Anniversary of Australia Post. He has worked for Australia Post for some years. He was one of 10 Australia Post workers to appear on an exclusive stamp out of 1,600 employees who were nominated.

Croatian president awards lifetime achievement award to Hedvig Hricak, M.D.

Radiological Society of North America President Hedvig Hricak, M.D., Ph.D., Dr. h.c., an internationally recognized leader in radiology research and public education, received a lifetime achievement award from Croatian President Stjepan Mesic at a December ceremony in Croatia. Dr. Hricak is a native of Croatia.
