» Vukovar 1991 - 2016 and music inspired by the destiny of the Baroque city on Danube river

Twenty five years have passed since the 1991 Vukovar tragedy. We provide several music expressions inspired by the events which marked Croatian contemporary history, as well as that of contemporary Europe. Among others, we provide music by Nenad Bach, Tomislav Ivčić (on the photo), Veritas aeterna, Dalmatino, Klapa Adriaticum, Buco, Miroslav Štivčić and others.
» Stanko Bilinski's rhombic dodecahedron discovered in Croatia in 1960 and nicely described by Matt Parker
Academician Stanko Bilinski 1909-1998, was distinguished Croatian mathematician, an expert in the field of Geometry. In 1960, he discovered the rhombic dodecahedron. A consequence of results from his PhD dissertation defended in 1944 (published in 1948, both at the University of Zagreb) is that there are precisely 14 semiregular (Archemidian) polyhedra. His results are cited and discussed by distinguished geometers like Coxeter, Grünbaum, Miyazaki, Tekada, and others. In May 2016, Matt Parker from the University of London (Queen Mary) created a very interesting and entertaining video in Dubrovnik, dealing with this nice geometric object.

Nenad Bach, proslavljeni hrvatski pjevač, skladatelj i izvođač koji je tijekom svoje uspješne međunarodne umjetničke karijere surađivao s Lucianom Pavarottijem, Bonom Voxom iz grupe U2, Brianom Enom, Richiem Havensom, Garthom Hudsonom i Rickom Dankom iz slavne grupe "The Bend" koja je bila prateći band Boba Dylama, Vinceom Welnickom iz legendarnog banda "Grateful Dead", glumcima Martinom Sheenom, Michaelom Yorkom, Johnom Malkovichem i mnogim drugima, sudionik festivala "Woodstock 94" i autor kompilacijskih albuma Brucea Springsteena, Leonarda Cohena i Allena Ginsberga, u crkvi sv. Duha u Šibeniku otpjevao je, prateći se na drevnim orguljama iz 1640. godine, svoju pjesmu "I Will Follow You".

Filip Cvitić has created a series of chocolates, which promote Croatian cultural heritage in a way consumers find attractive, with which they could connect with their everyday lives and through which they will see their own culture. Chocolates DOBRO describe the stories about music, art, science, economy, customs and daily life of people who make a particular Craotian city. These chocolates are supplied from Croatian chocolate factories. In the packaging, these stories are written in four languages: Croatian, English, German and Italian. Through these written stories it is possible to get acquainted with the cultural values ​​of the city.

When Dr Drago Štambuk (on the photo) proposed the creation of a Haiku Award in memory of Professor Vladimir Devidé, Croatian mathematician and the pioneer of haiku in Croatia, he suggested that modern and traditional haiku should be treated as equals. This is especially crucial for international haiku composition and competition, since not all languages can reflect Japanese syllabic patterns, nor do all climates mirror the four clear seasons which find expression in classical haiku. We also illustrate interesting contacts with Brazililan poets, established by Dr Drago Štambuk as a former Croatian ambassador in that country.

2015 was an exciting year to say the least. While in Zagreb, I was privileged to be part of the future art exhibition by Robert Gojevic, a very talented photographer and editor in chief of the Blur Magazine. Future is now. I drove autopilot Tesla Model S. Jamie Cohen is a brilliant man and one of the most prominent and progressive teachers who wrote an important book.
» Croatian dialects interactive atlas project directed by Dr Velimir Piskorec

The atlas of Croatian dialects has the aim to describe the living speech heritage in various parts of the Republic of Croatia and outside of it. About seventy typical sentences have been chosen as an illustration. The project is directed by Dr Velimir Piškorec, professor at the University of Zagreb, at the Faculty of Arts and Letters. The project is far from being completed, and native speakers from various parts where the Croatians live are invited to participate. The project is a part of the effort to present global linguistic diversity of Mankind using Internet.

Ludmila Ivanovna Rulenkova has published a textbook in Moscow in 2011 dealing with the so-called verbotonal method, developed by academician Petar Guberina in Croatia's capital Zagreb already since the 1950s. The method has been successfully  tested on hundreds of Russian children since the early 1990s. Her book has been translated into Croatian in 2015 at the SUVAG Centre in Zagreb, which is the leading centre in the world for problems of deaf children. The methods developed at SUVAG are in everyday use in more than 70 countries worldwide, in about 600 specialized insitututions.
