Miro Gavran Croatian playwright has nine premieres in nine countries during two months of 2019
 | Miro Gavran is the greatest contemporary Croatian playwright. His plays have been translated into as many as 41 languages worldwide. During the following two months, from the end of August till October 2019, nine of his plays will be shown in nine countries: Germany, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Nigeria, in his native Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Turkey and in Czechia. About 1000 actors in Croatia and thoughout the world participated in his plays. He had about 1300 public literary appearances in Croatia and worldwide. He is a honorable member of the Russian Literary Society in Moscow.

Stipe Miocic winner of the UFC heavyweight boxing title in 2019
| Stipe Miocic is a Croatian American mixed martial artist and firefighter-paramedic. In 2019 he won the title of the UFC champion. UFC is the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he competes in the heavyweight division. This was his fourth win of the UFC title, which is unique achievement the history of this competition. He is now at the age of 37 and his height is 1.93 m. With his wife Ryan Marie he has a daughter Meelah Grace (Meelah = mila in Croatian = dear).

 | Spisateljica i novinarka Carmen Vrlhicak Verlichak, MSc, postala je redovitom članicom Argentinske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti, u razredu za komunikacije. Vrljicak je jedina Hrvatica u Argentini koja je član te Akademije. Ceremoniji je u centru grada Buenos Airesa nazočila i veleposlanica Republike Hrvatske u Argentini, gospođa Duška Paravić. Kinjo Gakuin high school from Japan visited High School Sesvete in Croatia in 2019
 | Japanese students and teachers arrived in Zagreb on March, 21st 2019. They were wellcomed by students and teachers from Gimnazija Sesvete at Franjo Tuđman airport. The program consisted of multimedial presentations and workshops which presented Gimnazija Sesvete, Croatian educational system, attractions, beauty and culture of Zagreb and Croatia. Japanese students from Nagoya also presented their school, city and talked about education in Japan. The main purpose of this event was promotion of music as a universal way of connecting people as well as promoting school choir singing. |

Marko Mimica distinguished Croatian bass-baritone graduate of the Academy of Music in Zagreb
| Marko is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Zagreb, Croatia. He was a participant in the 2011 Salzburg Festival's Young Singers Project, and reached the final of Cardiff Singer of the World in 2013. In 2008 Marko made his professional debut at the Croatian National Theatre, Zagreb. On the concert platform, Marko made his debut at the BBC Proms in 2014 in a performance of Salome conducted by Donald Runnicles. Further appearances have included the Verdi Requiem with the Rundfunk Choir, Berlin and for the Deutsche Oper, Berlin; Creon Oedipus Rex with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai in Torino, Modena, Ferrara and in Napoli with the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro San Carlo; etc. |

Ana Vidovic's classical guitar recital in Baden-Baden in Germany in 2019
 | Ana Vidović, distinguished Croatian guitarist living in the USA, had an extremely demanding classical guitar recital in Baden-Baden, Germany, containing masterpieces of Bach, Guiliani, Scarlatti, Tarrega, Mangore, Sor and Albeniz. Ana Vidovic comes from the small town of Karlovac near Zagreb, Croatia, and started playing guitar at the age of 5, and by 7 had given her first public performance. At the age of 11 she was performing internationally, and at 13 became the youngest student to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb where she studied with Professor Istvan Romer. |

Mladen Vranic 1930-2019 a legend in diabetes research

Lucija & Dusko Rilov and their Studio Turtula of driftwood paintings
| Lucija & Duško Rilov live in the city of Trogir, which has been included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. They are creating beautiful life out of driftwood pieces, found on the seashore along the Croatian coast. Their inspiration are small island towns, which bring them peace and inner balance. Marko Tadic Croatian mathematician delivered a lecture at IHES in Paris in 2018
 | Marko Tadic, professor of Mathematics at the University of Zagreb and a member of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, delivered a lecture in 2018 at the prestigious IHES (Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques) in Paris. The title of his talk was "Unitarizability in generalised rank three case for classical p-adic groups". Although the lecture is on a highly specialized topic in Mathematics, we invite the reader to listen to at least a part of it. France is one of the strongest mathematical nations in the world. |
