Kozar, former national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, has been appointed president of the Catholic Near East Welfare Association and the Pontifical Mission for Palestine. Dr. Dijana Dominis Prester is Croatian astro-physicist employed at the University of Rijeka, Croatia. She completed the study of physics in 1996 at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, and defended her PhD in 2002 at the University of Potsdam in Germany. In Science magazine, within the Editor's choice, a news item was published in 2006 about a discovery of the first extrasolar planet (that is, of a planet outside of Solar system) in which a group of astrophysiscist participated from all 6 continents, among them a Croatian scientist, Dijana Dominis Prester from the University of Rijeka Department of Physics. The complete scientific paper has been published in the magazine Astrophysical Journal.

Doktorirao je povijesne znanosti (1987.) na Ohio State University u Columbusu, glavnom gradu države Ohio. Predavao je nekoliko godina na Ohio State University, a potom 20 godina na Joliet Collegeu, u blizini Chicaga, povijest zapadne civilizacije, modernu rusku, odnosno sovjetsku povijest, povijest Bliskog istoka i kolokvije o nacionalizmu.

» Ljubo Stipisic Delmata 1938-2011 distinguished composer and proponent of Croatian music and spirituality
Ljubo Stipišić Delmata's personality contains a multitude of traits: composer, poet, melodiographer, painter, producer, conductor of a-capella ensembles, etc. Maestro Delmata has been honored numerous prestigious music awards including several lifetime achievement awards. His work is of immeasurable musicological and cultural importance, especially for preservation and strengthening of the identity of  Croatia. Maestro Ljubo Stipišić died on October 9th 2011 at the age of 74.

On 8 October 1991 the Croatian Deit (Parliament) decided to cancel all ties with ex-Yugoslavia. The day before Zagreb has been bombed by the Yugoslav army attempting to assasinate president Franjo Tuđman and Croatian Government. The decision has been undertaken in circumstances of Serbian agression on Croatia, where the ex-Yu army was left without control of ex-Yugoslav presidency. The Decision obtained support of great majority of citizens of Croatia. Thank you, Google, for celebrating Croatian Independence Day with us!

New York Giants offensive tackle, David Diehl, stepped foot on Croatian soil for the first time on 1st July 2011. David is trying to retrace his roots as his maternal grandfather, Ante Bekavac, is from Lovreć, while his grandmother is from Krk. “It is a great honor to come here. This is my first time in Croatia, searching for my roots. I was in Lovreč, here I am in Split, now I go around to meet my motherland. It was an incredible experience for me, I see where I came from, where my roots are from. I am delighted and proud that I came to Croatia.”

Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia (MORH - Ministarstvo obrane Republike Hrvatske) provided a short 5min video about the operation "Storm", and a photogallery. The operation started on 5th August 1995, which is celebrated as the Victory Day and as the Day of Croatian Defenders throughout of Croatia. On the photo Croatian president Tuđman and Croatian defense minister Gojko Šušak on the fortress above the town of Knin just a few days after the start of operation "Storm".

The letters by Višnja Anić, professor of English and German, Zagreb, illustrate some of endeavours of Croatian intellectuals in the defense of Croatia from Serbian aggression that started in 1991. She was then employed at the Foreign Languages School in Zagreb. She is also a talented artist, who introduced the concept of "painting with the sea" with her husband.
