2 Cellos Luka Sulić & Stjepan Hauser 2 Croatian Geniuses conquering the world! I listened to this album "2 cellos Luka Sulić & Stjepan Hauser" many times. Each song is a cinematic journey through melodies and rhythms of centuries accumulated knowledge of cello playing. Album opens with Where The Streets Have No Name. Well done for introduction of the new way of listening to the new cellos. Lyrical melody of Use Somebody is full of youth enthusiasm and meticulous rhythm patterns. Fragile. Sound of fingers on the board and Stjepan's breath as a base for Luka's lyrical melody, then the same with pizzicato melody makes a perfect sense. The Resistance. My second favorite on the album, especially chorus part played as question and answer. Wide dynamics, exciting, finishing with distorted crescendo sound. We have never heard anything like this before. Hurt is in a perfect order after The Resistance, to calm us down. My third favorite is Human Nature. Natural echo with pizzicato and a new sound from a traditional instrument. Brilliant counterpoint of 2 cellos. My favorite is Viva La Vida. Muted legato B-flat-A touches the core of my soul in a deepest possible way. 12 songs. From brilliant Smooth Criminal to With Or Without You. Strength: Level of performance, original arrangements, not-in-the-way-of-art production. Weakness: None In one word: PERFECT. Executive producers Kirk Yano and Miro Vidović did a great job, navigating this ship into a safe harbor, letting the talent do what they do the best and organizing the rest. I hope that the boys do appreciate that. I had a privilege to meet the boys here in New York, after their debut concert and a few days later. I liked what I saw very much. With such a sudden success their souls are still intact and I hope to see them many many times again. Stjepan's wild temperament with humor and wit is matched by Luka's calm melancholic reassuring partnership.  This kind of musical meteor happens once in a generation! I wish only one thing.
