Croatian Cultural Club in Zagreb
By Prof.Dr. Darko Zubrinic | Published  01/5/2009 | Events , Culture And Arts , Awards | Unrated
Prestigious award established by Croatian Cultural Club and INA

Šime Šimatović, founder of the Croatian Cultural Club in 1990.

Hrvatski kulturni klub

Temeljna svrha djelovanja Hrvatskoga kulturnog kluba je njegovanje hrvatske kulture i njezine povezanosti sa svijetom. Klub potiče i ostvaruje programe hrvatskog kulturnog stvaralaštva organiziranjem tribina, promocija, koncerata, izložaba i savjetovanja.

Croatian Cultural Club

The principal role of the Club is the advancement of Croatian culture at home and internationally. The Club provides incentives and works on implementation of various programmes related to creation of works of arts, organises lectures, recitals, exhibitions and conferences.

Club's offices are situated in the building of the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb that contains the richest tresury of Croatian cultural heritage, and was considered to be a great privilege. Moreover, with its activities and reputation, the Museum offers greater opportunities for the realisation of Cultural Club's programmes.

During the Homeland war the Croatian Cultural Club participated in various support programmes to displaced persons and refugees and in their associations and trusts. Members of the Club were involved in numerous activities aimed at promotion of patriotic ideas.

The Croatian Cultural Club is paying particular attention to Croatia's friends in other countries, trying to ensure support and promotion of their scientific, cultural and artistic work that contributes to dissemination of Croatian culture.

The idea about INA prize  appeared in 1994 in line with the above objectives and it has since become one area of activity of the Croatian Cultural Club.

The Club has been founded by Šime Šimatović, a well known Croatian film maker.
