Obama-Biden Campaign Welcomes European and Mediterranean American National Leadership Committees

Chicago, IL – The Obama-Biden campaign today welcomed the formation of a dozen European an d Mediterranean American National Leadership Committees.  These committees, comprised of prominent leaders from across the country -- Governors, Senators, Members of Congress, diplomats, labor leaders and others -- showcase the continued and growing support for Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

“I’m honored to receive the support of these European and Mediterranean Americans.  As immigrants and the descendants of immigrants, European and Mediterranean Americans have a deep commitment to their families and their communities. And like all Americans, they want an economy that creates jobs and restores opportunity, a quality education for their children, affordable and accessible health care – the very promise that their children’s tomorrows will be better than their yesterdays.  I am running for President to restore that promise and put the American Dream within reach for them and for all Americans,” said Senator Barack Obama.

Over 200 Americans from 12 different European or Mediterranean backgrounds have come together to endorse Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden; They have formed 12 different national leadership committees.

"In these uncertain and tough times, Croatian Americans, like all Americans, are looking for a President that provides steady leadership and puts the middle class first," said Representative Peter Visclosky (IN). "Barack Obama will be that President – a President who, by his example, demonstrates that achieving the American dream is still possible, and who, with his policies, will make sure that it can be a reality for all Americans."

I am surprised that your site would support a page with so many names of people who have identified themselves with the "NFCA" brand when they should have used something like "Activist". Using "NFCA" implies that the NFCA organization has endorsed Obama which has confused many NFCA members, so that the NFCA has had to issue a clarification on their neutrality with regard to political candidates and parties. In addition, you jepordize the NFCA's relationship with their members who are not Obama supporters and weaken the organization's potential relationship with the next U. S. Government Administration if Obama does not win!!

I am confident that Obama-Biden's win will be the American people's final judgment on 8 years of rigid right wing ideologically motivated politics of division that reminds us to these politics known from the darkest period of human history from the early 20th century.

Justice, fairness and common sense will be back and all the people of a good will all over the nation and the world will rejoice.

Entire world will celebrate return of the USA as it always was - the true and just leader on the path to better future for all, the protector of human rights and civil liberties and the strongest advocate for democracy and world order based on the highest principles of the rule of law.

This year's election day is truly historical day.

Let's do what ever we can to make sure that call for true change and new hope wins.

    Let's vote for Obama-Biden ticket.

Bozidar Sicel - Proud Croatian American - President of the American Bosnian Association and former NFCA National Board of Directors member and the former Vice-President of the CAA - Illinois Chapter.
