This unique collection was exhibited first in the village of Klakar and since 2017 in Pirovac near the island of Murter


Rev. Željko Zuanović describing his unique collection of sea shells in the parish house in the village of Klakar
near Slavonski Brod on the north of Croatia. This extremely interesting collection is now placed
in the town of Pirovac (TRITON Gallery of Shells) on Croatian coast, near the cities of Zadar and Šibenik, not far from the island of Murter.

Rev. Željko Zuanović is a passionate diver (although born in the continental part of Croatia)

We express our deep gratitude to Mr. Zuvanović. Also, many thanks to Professor Šeper, Croatian mathematician,
for his hospitality and for having taken us to such a wonderful place.

Rev. Željko Zuvanović is not only a great connoisseur of sea shells, but also of wines and cooking as well.
Rev. Željko Zuvanović has published several very interesting books. He is also a gifted writer and singer,
as well as a fine cook. We draw your attention to his luxorous book entitled The Beautiful Shells.

It is nice to see a priest with such a deep knowledge about the life and biology of sea shells.
We express our deep gratitude to the hospitality of rev. Željko Zuanović.




Giant shells, weighing about 150 kg each. This is very probably the most interesting collection of shells in Croatia.
The photos were taken in the parish house of the village of Klakar near Slavonski Brod on Croatian north.
Since 2017, the collection of shells is placed in the town of Pirovac (TRITON Gallery of Shells) on Croatian coast,
between the cities of Zadar and Šibenik, not far from the island of Murter.
