Željko Zuanović is a Croatian catholic priest, with an interesting hobby: he collects see shells throughout the world. His collection of about 2500 shells is since 2020 exhibited in the village of Marijanci, a few kilometers of Valpovo the NE of Croatia. We recommend you to pay a visit to his collection of shells. Surprisingly, rev. Zuanović was born in continental part of Croatia, and his other hobbies include diving, singing, cooking and writing poetry. He has published a wonderful book entitled The World of Shells.

This unique collection was exhibited first in the village of Klakar, and since 2020 in the village of Marijanci near Valpovo on the NE of Croatia

Rev. Željko Zuvanović is not only a great connoisseur of sea shells, but also of wines and cooking as well.
Rev. Željko Zuvanović has published several very interesting books. He is also a gifted writer and singer,
as well as a fine cook. We draw your attention to his luxorous book entitled The Beautiful Shells.




It is nice to see a priest with such a deep knowledge about the life and biology of sea shells.

Giant shells, weighing about 150 kg each. This is very probably the most interesting collection of shells in Croatia.
The photos were taken in the parish house of the village of Klakar near Slavonski Brod on Croatian north.
Since 2020, his collection is placed in the village of Marijanci, a few kilometers of the town of Valpovo on the NE of Croatia.
