While the Croats first wore the cravat, they are very appreciative of the other cultures around the world that have embraced and perfected it. Now, in fact, they are proud to say that the cravat is an important aspect of world culture as it worn across so many cultures while represents universal human values...which is why they are so committed to preserving and promoting it as a proud part of their heritage. Academia Cravatica established "International Day of the Cravat" in 2008 and it now occurs every year on October 18th. Article submitted by Nicholas B.
