The ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to China, Boris Velić, and president of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Zlatko Mateša, visited the Macau Olympic Committee last week at the newly inaugurated MOC Headquarters.
Velić said he hoped the meeting will be a foundation for future cooperations between the two Olympic committees.
Eddie Laam, president of MOC, received the Croatian delegates, and introduced the operation of the committee saying it is under the full support of the local government.
"The three multisport Games held three years in a row has greatly increased the quality as well as the quantity of Macau's infrastructures, and along with these developments, there is more support for the training of local athletes and for the hosting of international events," said Laam.
"Croatia has an excellent relationship with China, which China helps us in Volleyball and Table Tennis," Velić said, adding "on the other hand too, Croatia also sent coaches to China in sports such as handball, water polo, and tennis. We hope that in the near future, Macau and Croatia can work together in the development of our sports in training opportunities or the organisation of tournaments."
