Hrvatski veleposlanik u Japanu dr. Drago Štambuk otvorio izložbu
posvećenu Jalaluddinu Rumiju turske umjetnice Nilüfer Tütüncü

Tokyo, 23. siječnja 2008.

Veleposlanik RH u Japanu dr.

Hrvatski Veleposlanik brojnim nazočnima izložio je, prvo, umjetničine zasluge i zatim obrazložio tehničku virtuoznost Nilüfer Tütüncü, njen snažni kolorizam, sugestivnu dinamiku plesa derviša i ezoteričnost poteza kistom.

Croatian Ambassador to Japan Dr. Drago Štambuk inaugurated the opening
of the exhibition of Turkish artist Nilüfer Tütüncü dedicated to Jalaluddin Rumi

Tokyo, January 23, 2008

Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Japan Dr. Drago Štambuk inaugurated in the Turkish Cultural Centre in Tokyo the opening of the exhibition of Turkish artist in marble technique Nilüfer Tütüncü dedicated to Jalaluddin Rumi. By using the marble technique various materials, from paper, leather and textile are transformed in colored abstractions.  On marbled goat skin with irregular edges by using the oil colors the artist depicted scenes from the life of famous mystic Jalaluddin Rumi, whose 800th anniversary of birth was celebrated last year under the auspices of UNESCO.

In addressing the people present at the opening ceremony, after stating her achievements, the Ambassador of Croatia gave account on Nilüfer Tütüncü technical virtuosity, her intense colorism, suggestive dynamics of dervishs’ dance as well as esoteric touches of painter’s brush. Dr. Štambuk spoke of Rumi as one of the most complex human beings in mankind history who, after the encounter with Shams of Tabriz, turned on the search of Divine in humans, using unsurpassed poetic words in conveying his majestic spiritual adventure. The fact that the person coming from the Christian background speaks about Islamic mystic is the proof of Rumi’s inclusiveness and his all-human universalism, said Dr. Štambuk.

In addressing the public at the opening ceremony, Ambassador of Croatia was later joined by the Ambassador of Turkey to Japan Sermet Atacanli, imam of Turkish Mosque in Tokyo Ensari Yentürk and the artist herself. After the opening ceremony Dr. Štambuk gave 10-minute interview to Turkish national television.
