Croatia's Velemir Crljan kept his Streetsville team's hopes for a Canadian Professional Soccer League playoff berth alive when he scored late for a 1-0 victory over St. Catharines Roma Wolves, Friday night at Streetsville Memorial Park.
"It felt really nice to score in the last three minutes and get the game-winning goal," said Crljan. "I think we now have a very good chance of making the playoffs."

Croatia now has 18 points (5-6-3), just two points behind Brampton Hitmen and London City, who are tied for the third and final playoff spot with 20 points in the CPSL's Western Conference, with six games remaining.

Playing against a St. Catharines team that stands last in the West with a record of 2-9-5, Croatia seemed uninspired through most of what should have been an easy win.

"The last goal got at least 50 pounds off my back," said Croatia head coach Aldo Krajcar.
