 Dog rescued after year down 30ft pit Nov 12 2002A dog has been rescued after being trapped down a deep pit in Croatia for more than a year.The dog was probably thrown into the 30 ft deep pit with a litter of puppies, the Zagreb newspaper Jutarnji reported.Dinko Novosel, a member of an animal protection group, abseiled into the pit and rescued the dog.The mongrel had survived by drinking rain water and eating dead animals, Novosel said
