Croatia 10th in the world by FIFA Argentina top year-end Fifa rankings
Hamburg (dpa) - Argentina end 2007 top of the international team rankings issued by football world governing body Fifa Monday.
Thailand dropped another eight ranks in December, and now are No 121 in the Fifa standings - just behind Jordan and ahead of Liechtenstein.
Full rankings, Click here With few international matches played in the past month, the top 20 remain unchanged with Argentina on 1,523 points ahead of Brazil (1,502), world champions Italy (1,498), Spain (1,349) and Germany (1,298).
The remainder of the top 10 are taken up by Czech Republic (1,290), France (1,243), Portugal (1,241), Netherlands (1,170) and Croatia (1,129).
Over the year, good performamnces by top 10 sides have been registered by Spain (up eight places) and Croatia (up five).
Greece (11th, up five), Scotland (14th, up 11), Turkey (16th, up 10), Colombia (17th, up 17) and Bulgaria (18th, up 25) have also shown clear
improvements, while England, who began in fifth, have ended the year 12th.
Mozambique are meanwhile the best climbers of the year, rising from 128th to 75th.
Heading in the other direction were Euro 2008 co-hosts Austria who have fallen from 65th a year ago to 94th, their worst-ever ranking.
Fellow hosts Switzerland have also slipped, from 17th to 44th over the past year.
