FIFA ranking: BRAZIL tops, CROATIA in sixth place


 

(AGI/ITALPRESS) - Zurich, 22 Aug. - No change has been seen in August as concerns the first five places in the FIFA rankings.  At the top is still Brazil followed by Argentina, while Italy has keep its third place with France and Germany trailing behind. Croatia has risen a step to sixth place and Holland (7th) is back in the top ten after a month's hiatus. Sliding to ninth place, on the othr hand, is the Czech republic, with eigth going to Spain and tenth Portugal. The biggest changes in the month of August were in Asia, where the new continental champions, Iraq, climbed 16 places (now in 64th place). Also moving ahead were Korea (50th, +8) as well as the finalists for the Asian Cup, Saudi Arabia  (51st, +10). This is the top ten in the FIFA rankings: 1 Brazil 1508 points(+8), 2 Argentina 1491 (+15), 3 Italia 1430 (+62), 4 France 1380  (+23), 5 Germany 1337  (+26), 6 Croatia 1223 (+31), 7 Holland 1211 (+16), 8 Spain 1165 (+21), 9 Czech Republic 1158 (+41) and 10  Portugal 1157 (+11).
