Soros out of Croatia
 As of June 1, 2006, Open Society Institute closed its offices    in 
   Zagreb, Croatia. OSI Croatia was active for 14 years spending $55 
   millions on development of civil society, education, public health, 
   media, art, culture, and judiciary. OSI Croatia board of directors 
   chairperson, Slavica Singer, affirmed OSI board's belief that 
   Croatia's civil society is capable and self-sustainable within 
   parameters of European democratic standards
