as far as we know ivan lupis was actually born in the medieval village of Nakovana he was my husbands family's neighbor. this village is located on a plateau in the hills on the end of the Peljesac Peninsular that runs north west from Dubrovnik approximately 120 kms from Dubrovnik. The village has significant historical interest because of a cave that has been found above it that had been closed for 2 or 3 thousand years and because of the old burial mounds surrounding it. the people of the village hold a festival there on the 8th September each year and display information about Lupis Vukic's life in his house.
