Rock quarry (Kamenolom) on island, Lastovo ?

Hello guys,

I really need your help. I don't know if you have heard, but for the past year a person from Australia with the help of someone from Italy has been trying to build a rock quarry (Kamenolom) on my island, Lastovo. My mom, as the president of Eko Zadruge, along with the help of the whole island, has been doing everything possible to try to stop a few politicians only interested in their own gains and who are not looking out for the best interests of the island from allowing this to happen. The overwhelming majority of the island's population believes that Lastovo's future is in tourism, and they plan to make the island a national park, but if this rock quarry were to open, the future of Lastovo would inevitably go in a totally different direction.

If you can do us a small favor and write a few words to the President of Lastovo, saying how a rock quarry would be bad for Lastovo's future and would destroy this beautiful island, we would really appreciate it. The election day is this Tuesday, February 27th, and we desperately need as many letters as we can get to prevent this from happening. It would only take you a few minutes to do this, so please help us keep this beautiful island one of the top10 beautiful islands in Croatia.
