The Dubrovnik International Film Festival

May 27 - 30, 2004 in Dubrovnik, Croatia

The Dubrovnik International Film Festival (DIFF) is pleased to announce that the anticipated sequel to last year's highly successful inaugural film festival will commence on May 27 and close on May 30, 2004 in Dubrovnik,Croatia. DIFF 2004 will proudly welcome two-time Academy Award winning producer Branko Lustig as a recipient of the DIFF Libertas Award™ for his extraordinary lifetime achievements in film. Mr. Lustig received the prestigious Academy Award as a producer of GLADIATOR (2001) and SCHINDLER'S LIST (1994), and has also produced such notable films as BLACK HAWK DOWN, HANNIBAL and THE PEACEMAKER. He is executive producer of KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (directed by Ridley Scott and starring Orlando Bloom and Liam Neeson) currently in production. In addition to receiving the Libertas Award™, Mr. Lustig will participate in a panel discussion on film production.

Call for Entries is now open for DIFF 2004. Feature, documentary and short film entries will be accepted until March 31, 2004. Filmmakers should consult the festival website at www.DUBROVNIKiff.org  for more information on submission rule and regulations.

In May 2003, the first annual DIFF showcased 27 narrative features and documentaries, and 30 shorts from 15 different countries, including CALLAS FOREVER (starring Fanny Ardant and Jeremy Irons), LEO (starring Joseph Fiennes, Elisabeth Shue, Deborah Kara Unger, Dennis Hopper), MIRANDA (starring Christina Ricci), and GENGHIS BLUES, the Academy Award nominated documentary by brothers Roko and Adrian Belic. The closing night celebration included the presentation of the Libertas Award™ to Deborah Kara Unger (CRASH, THE SALTON SEA, THE GAME, EMILE) and the Argosy Award™ to Jonathan Tucker (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, STATESIDE, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES).
