Croatia Treats Iraqi Children, Trains Doctors In Forensic Techniques

AFP: 8/26/2004
ZAGREB, Aug 26 (AFP) - Seven Iraqi children were hospitalized in Zagreb Thursday for life-saving surgical operations, Health Minister Andrija Hebrang said. He said the government had budgeted 270,000 euros (326,000 dollars) this year for medical care for Iraqi children who cannot be treated in their own country. The seven children admitted to three hospitals Thursday are aged between two and 11. Hebrang did not give any details about their condition. He said six Iraqi doctors arrived Thursday to begin training in forensic techniques, including the use of DNA tracing to identify victims in mass graves.
