Arms
were granted by King Franz Joseph of Austria in Vienna on June 6, 1882 to Karl
Sertic, Colonel-Commandant, Infantry Regiment in the Brinje District of
Croatia. The original grant is with the family in Zagreb, Croatia.
The
shield includes two snakes and a lion over the crown with a Turk’s head on a
sword.
Sertic
is a very popular name in Croatia and is found in many parts of Croatia. The
majority came from Dasovic-Selo, Donji Andrijevci, Dakovo, Gola, Hrastelnica,
Jezerane. Kamenica, Karlovac, Levinovac, Razvala, Saborski, Sigetec, podravska
Slatina, Slavonska Pozega, Zagreb and with most at Stajnica in the Brinje
District.
