IVANOVIC - IVANOVICH
Ivanovich
means the son of John or Johnson. Ivanovic name variations would include
lvanic, Ivancic, Ivancan, Ivancek, Ivancevic, lvanisevic, Ivanko and Ivankovic
plus many others.
Ivanovich
was a Count with origins at Hercegnovi in the Kotor with other branches at
Makarska recorded between 1477-1499 in Dalmatia. King Leopold granted arms to
Frane Ivanovich of Virovitica and Pozega on August 4, 1687 in Vienna. Another
branch originated in Zvonigrad, Bosnia and was related to the clans of
Mirkovich, Alacevich, Ivelich, Kurkuti, and Tadich. These clans moved out at
the fall of Bosnia.
The
largest clans of lvanovich lived at Aljamas, Baranjsko, Petrovo Selo, Brcevac,
Bukovica, Cepin, Donja Obrijez, Gorican, Krstatice, Mandic Selo, Slavonska
pozega, Split, Strasnik, Sutivan on Brac, Tovarnik and Zagreb.
Colors
of Arms are gold for the dots; silver for the white; blue for the horizontal
lines; and green for the left slanted lines.
