CAVRAG--CAVRAK
Ca
means what or which and vrag means devil. It could be when the Turks were
invading in the 1500's that someone said "oh-what the hell" and was
stuck with the nickname Cavrag.
Cavrag-Cavrak
families are found at Letovanci, Gorinci, Zelenac, Gusce, Letovanic and Mahovo
in the district of Petrinja, Karlovac, Ogulin and Sisak.
Arms
were granted to Mathew, Jakob and Martin by King Rudolf at Prague on March 29,
1602.
Color
of Arms are blue for the horizontal lines, red for the vertical lines, gold for
the dots (crown), silver for the white and green for the left vertical lines.
Arms
were probably granted for valor in battle against the Turks as the sword
signifies battle.
