BOZIC----BOZICH
Bozic
means Christmas in Croatian and Bozo is a Croatian first name meaning Chris or
Christian. The American clan used Bozic or Bozich. Bozicevic and Bozickovic are
also common in Croatia. Bozic is very numerous and found from Slavonia, Istria
to Dalmatia. There are 1000’s all over Croatia, most can be found in Cvrljevo,
Drnis, Dalmatia.
The
Clan centers are located at Basara,
Bozici, Brest, Donji Hrastovac, Hum, Kastel Stari, Kolaric, Koprivna, Kutina,
Lipovac, Obljaj Mali, Osijek, Raspor, Rijeka, Tordinci, Zagreb and Zvecanje.
Marko,
Silvester and Anton Bozic were granted Arms in 1793. This clan was from the
Vukovar district. Arms also were granted in 1843 to Nikola Bozic by King Ferdinand
in Vienna. He was a Husar in the military. Arms are registered in the Zagreb
Archives.
