ANTICEVIC---ANTICEVICH
Anticevic
is probably the son of Ante or Anton. Antic means apricot. Most Anticevich's
come from the islands of Brac, Lastovo, Janjina on Peljesac with the most and Lozisce on Brac with the next
highest number.
Nobility
was registered on Brac in 1659, although they are believed to have been
nobility prior to 1659. They are directly related to the Krstic-Krstulovic clan
that arrived on the island of Brac in the 1600's from Makarska on the coast.
They originated in Bosnia and probably moved out at the fall of Bosnia to the
Ottoman Turks.
Nikolas
Anticevic from Brac and a California pioneer was a fruit raiser, distiller and
brandy and wine maker at San Jose in the 1880's. he was an American citizen and
voted in 1885. His brandy distillery was located at 275 Divine St., San Jose,
California. Other Anticevich's of pioneer California were Antonio, John, Joseph
and Marco.
