Adam S. Eterovich
ADAMIC---ADAMICH
Adamic
or the son of Adam is found at Markus-Breg, Zlatar, Pofuki, Krizevci and
Zagreb, Croatia in substantial numbers. Adamich is fairly common and also found
in most areas of Croatia.
Arms
were granted to the brothers Louis and Andrea Adamich on June 24,1834 by King
Franz I at Vienna. This family came from Rijeka and had consuls, ship captains
and a street named after them.
The
colors of arms are blue for the horizontal lines, gold for the dots and silver
for the white.
An
Adamich was a soldier of the fighting 69th Division, U.S. Army in WW 1. John
Adamich was a bartender and seaman on the steamer Constantine out of San
Francisco in the 1870's; he was a citizen and voted in 1875. Joseph Adamich married
Maria Sikora in San Francisco at the Slavonian-Croatian Church In 1903. He was
a tailor. Andrew Adamich was a citizen and voted In the 1890's in San
Francisco.
