Dina Merhav, Israel

Dina Merhav is an international artist, born in 1936 in the city of Vinkovci, Croatia, whose works are in public and private collections throughout the globe.

Her sculptures can be found in Mumbai, India, Geneve, Switzerland, Canada, USA and Europe. In Israel, her base and homeland, the sculptures are placed in parks, schools, industrial plants, and memorial sites.

In particular it is significant to mention the Oil Refinery in the Haifa Bay area, the Merhav Nesher Industrial Park, at the Nesher Cement Factory in the northern part of Israel and in its other branches in the country where she constructed numerous sculptures.

Her first individual exhibition otuside of Israel took place in Croatia's capital Zagreb in 2013, in the Glyptotheque of HAZU (= Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts) Gallery in Zagreb. Later the same year, it was transferred to her native city of Vinkovci, where it has been welcomed with great appreciation and love.

DINA MERHAV, Sculptress

Specializes in constructing big outdoor sculptures around the world.

  • 1936 > Born in the city of Vinkovci, Croatia.
  • 1949 > Immigrated with her family to Israel, settled in Kiryat Motzkin.
  • 1953-1957 > Studied and Graduated from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem.
  • Began to work as graphic designer.
  • 1966-1996 > Instructor of graphic design and sculpture, Hadassa Wizo College of Design, Haifa.
  • 1971-1974 > Instructor of graphic design, Art Department, University of Haifa.
  • 1975-1980 > Instructor of graphic design, External Studies, Technion, Haifa.
  • 1984-1985 > Studied sculpture, University of Haifa.
  • 1984 > Participated in a stone sculpture seminar, Pietra Santa, Italy.
  • Published poetry book For You With Love.
  • 1998 > Received the Herman Struck Prize, Haifa Municipality.

Works currently in her sculpture studio in Kibbutz Nir Ezion. Lives in Artists Village Ein Hod

Participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad.
