Law for cooperation with Croats outside of the Republic of Croatia
By Marko Puljić | Published 10/9/2011 |
New law will regulate relations between Croatia and its Diaspora
The final draft of the law regarding cooperation with Croats outside of Croatia has been published. This new law is a completely new approach in regulating relations between Croatia and Croats outside Croatia in the fields of culture, education, economics, and sports. This new law has yet to be ratified by the Croatian Sabor and is slated to be voted on in the coming weeks. The law envisages the organization of a Central Office for Croats outside Croatia which will be a coordinating and governing body for all matters of relations between Croatia and Croats outside Croatia and the Government Council for Croats outside Croatia (advisory body). Also, the Act regulates the status of Croats without Croatian citizenship - Croatian card which will resolve the status of those people who for whatever reason can not have Croatian citizenship for example because they live in a country that does not allow dual citizenship.
