MARINCOVICH, MATEO and JOHN

Mateo Marincovich, native of the Island of Brac, was naturalized as a citizen in Nevada. He first ventured to Virginia City in 1864 and worked as a mattress maker with John Marincovich. he entered into a partnership in the Delmonico Restaurant at Treasure City in 1869. He was later in the fruit business in the Santa Clara Valley, California in 1873. He also had a fruit establishment at Davis and Commercial Streets at San Francisco in 1875 and a coffee saloon at 513 Clay Street, San Francisco in 1884.

John Marincovich also from Brac had a mattress making business in Virginia City during the 1860’s and 1870’s. He probably was related to Mateo.
