MATTIAS SHASTERICH

Mattias Shasterich was in Virginia City as a miner in 1860. he had tried his luck in Placerville, California in 1855. The Federal Census of 1870 in Hamilton lists him as a silverminer worth $11,000. He was living at 305 Kearny Street in 1883 listing as a speculator. On June 6, 1860 the San Francisco paper noted him “missing” at the Pyramid Lake Indian Massacre.
