Sausage King

This year has been very successful for national "sausage king" Paul''Marinovich Jr, his father Paul Sr and staff at Dubrovnik Butchers from Meltham in Western Australia. After winning the crown at the National Sausage King competition in Sydney in March, they were voted 'best butchers' on TV 6PR's afternoon talkback program. At the recent Royal, Perth show, five entries made the finals - smoked chorizos, fresh chorizos and Italian in the continental category and Cumberland and Lincolnshire in pork category. The smoked chorizos won gold, giving Paul Jr and Dubiovnik Butchers a chance to compete at the national "Sausage King", title next year. The venue for next years cornpetition is as yet unknown. As an added bonus, at the same time as the Perth Royal Show was being held, Paul Jr became the proud father to his first" child, Lily May. Paul Jr said he was confident of winning next year's continental sausage category with his smoked chorizos. Dubrovnik Butchers was first opened in 1974 by Paul Marinovich Sr but now he is happy for 'his son to become the new face of the cormpany and to wear the crown of "Sausage King“.
