SERTIC--SERTICH

 

Sertic can be found in America written as Sertic. The letter ”C” has an accent mark slanted to the right an is pronounced tch.

 

Arms were granted by King Franz Joseph of Austria in Vienna on June 6, 1882 to Karl Sertic, Colonel-Commandant, Infantry Regiment in the Brinje District of Croatia. The original grant is with the family in Zagreb, Croatia.

 

The shield includes two snakes and a lion over the crown with a Turk’s head on a sword.

 

Sertic is a very popular name in Croatia and is found in many parts of Croatia. The majority came from Dasovic-Selo, Donji Andrijevci, Dakovo, Gola, Hrastelnica, Jezerane. Kamenica, Karlovac, Levinovac, Razvala, Saborski, Sigetec, podravska Slatina, Slavonska Pozega, Zagreb and with most at Stajnica in the Brinje District.
