Croatian city of Dubrovnik celebrating the Day of Armenian patron St Vlaho since 972 AD
 | Celebrations of the fest day of St Blaise (in Croatian, Sveti Vlaho), Dubrovnik patron saint, is celebrated since 972 AD, that is, continuously for 1040 years. This patron relates Dubrovnik and Croatia with Armenia, because St Blais was Armenian saint. The Festival of St Blaise is also the City of Dubrovnik Day. Croatian-Armenian friendship society has been founded in Croatia's capital Zagreb in 2003. Its current president is Croatian pianist Naira Astaryan of Armenian origin.

Ivica Kostelic's third straight win in World Cup slalom in Wengen Switzerland 2012 equals Stenmark feat

Sena Jurinac 1021-2011 legendary Croatian artist who shaped the entire opera world
 | Sena Jurinac was educated as an opera singer in Croatia's capital Zagreb, where she started her opera career in 1943. Since 1945 she was singing for the State Opera in Vienna, until 1982 when she retired. Dominique Meyer, director of the Vienna State Opera, said the following on the occasion of death of Sena Jurinac: “We are mourning the loss of a legendary artist who shaped not only the Vienna State Opera, but also the entire opera world,’’ She died on 22 November 2011 at the age of 90.

Professor Davor Solter one of the first to postulate genomic imprinting interviewed in Singapore
 | In seminal experiments studying the developmental potential of maternal and paternal genomes by nuclear transplantation, professor Davor Solter was one of the first to postulate genomic imprinting. His research focuses on genetic and epigenetic mechanisms regulating mouse preimplantation development. He made significant contributions to many areas of mammalian development, including differentiation of germ layers, the biology and genetics of teratocarcinoma, the biology of embryonic stem cells, cloning, and reprogramming. Professor Solter was born in Croatia's capital Zagreb, where he studied medicine and earned his PhD. In the period of 1991-2006 he was the Director of the Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology in Freiburg in Germany, and now working in Singapore.

Klapa Grdelin in Croatia's capital Zagreb singing Dalmatian songs
 | Klapa Grdelin was founded in Zagreb in February 2000. Throughout the years Grdelin has been exploring and expanding its repertoire that was performed at many concerts and festivals. The repertoire includes original Dalmatian songs arranged by famous composers and ethnomusicologists (Jakov Gotovac, Ljubo Stipišić, Dinko Fio, Duško Tambača and others), popular tunes adapted for klapa singing, traditional folk tunes of Lent and Christmas.
