His Excellency Mr. Marko Vuketić was recently appointed as Austrian ambassador in Ukraine. He belongs to Croatian branch in Austria known under the name of Burgendland Croats, or Gradišćanski Hrvati, living there since the 16th century.

His Excellency Mr. Marko Vuketić has been appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria as ambassador of that state in Kiev, capital of Ukraine. Ukraine is one of the largest Euroepan countries with about 50 million citizens. Mr. Vuketić will be on that prestigeous position for the next four years. His duty is to represent economic and cultural interests of Austria, to take care about Austrian citizens living in Ukraine, and to survey the functioning of Austrian consulates in that country.

Mr. Marko Vuketić started his career in the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986. He studied law, and is now at the age of 46.

Below you can read a short article written in Croatian language spoken among Burgenland Croats. It preserved some very old features of Croatian language that were in use in parts of Croatia in the 16th century. We invite all those who can read Croatian to enjoy this text.

Marko Vuketić: veleposlanik u Ukrajini

Diplomat Marko Vuketić je imenovan veleposlanikom Austrijanskoga veleposlanstva u Kijevu u Ukrajini. Rodjeni Pandrofac se je študirao pravo i je po stažu na sudu stupio 1986. ljeta u službu Ministarstva vajnskih poslov.

Marko Vuketić se veseli novomu poslu, u kom vidi veliki izazov i odgovornost.

Šef misije u Kijevu za četira ljeta

Marko Vuketić je bio savjetnik za štampu i kulturu na veleposlanstvu u Beogradu, a po tom savjetnik za štampu na veleposlanstvu u Pešti.

Zadnja troja ljeta je 46-ljetni bio šef perzonalne službe u Ministarstvu u Beču.

Marko Vuketić će četira ljeta dugo vršiti mandat šefa misije u Kijevu.

Vuketić zastupa interese Austrije

Ukrajina je jedna od najvećih europskih zemalj i ima 50 milioni stanovnikov. Ona ima i jako veliko tržišće, ko je interesantno za Austriju.

Kot veleposlanik mora Marko Vuketić zastupati gospodarske i kulturne interese Austrije.

Zvana toga se mora skrbiti za austrijanske državljane, kim se je u Ukrajini nešto stalo.

Zvana toga leži njegova zadaća i o tom, da funkcioniraju konzularne posle.
