Ana Marušić MD PhD

Dr Marušić is a Professor of Anatomy at the Zagreb University School of Medicine, where she received her MD in 1985 and PhD in 1989. She studies interactions between immune and bone systems. Her research group contributed to the understanding of genetic determination of new bone induction and the role of B lymphocytes in osteoblast differentiation. During the 1991-1995 war in Croatia, she worked on documenting medical aspects of the war. She is co-editor of a widely acclaimed manual "Psychosocial Support to Women Refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia and Their Families", published by the International Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims, Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr Marušić has been on the Editorial Board of the Croatian Medical Journal since 1992, and its Coeditor-in-Chief since 1994.
