World Heritage Sites in Croatia on Exhibit, January 28 - March 11
WORLD HERITAGE SITES IN CROATIA

The Kansas City Missouri Public Library will host the North American debut of a breathtaking series of photo murals that compromise the World Heritage Sites in Croatia.  Commissioned by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, the colorful exhibit commemorates the 25th anniversary of the inclusion of Croatian landmarks on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Opening on Sunday, January 28th, 2007, in the Guldner Gallery at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th Street, the sites depicted in the exhibition will include the late medieval town of Dubrovnik; the coastal town of Split with Diocletian's palace at its center, landscapes from Plitvice Lakes National Park; and the historic city of Trogir.

An opening reception is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday January 28th, and features a presentation by Dr. Michael Milkovitch, director emeritus of the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as music by The Strawberry Hill Croatian Folk Ensemble.  The Croatian Honorary Consulate and the Croatian-American communities of the metropolitan Kansas City Area will provide traditional Croatian desserts.

The exhibit will be on display January 28-March 11, 2007 in Kansas City, and will also travel in the spring to the University of Indiana as well as Chicago.

Admission is free
