Looking for War veterans in New York City

My name is Michael Sugrue and I'm a photographer in New York City. I'm
looking for subjects, specifically war veterans in New York City, for a
photo project I'm working on. The project is focused on conflicts not
extensively (or completely, fairly, etc.) covered by the American
media. The conflict in the Balkans was treated as a political issue
and the focus in the US was on the duty of our President to commit
American troops. There was not a lot of discourse concerning the
merits of those actually involved in the territorial struggle.

My project aims to help tell the stories of the veterans of that war,
in a personal way that has so far eluded the world press. Also, with
the passage of several years, the stories will have take on a degree of
perspective.

Each photograph will be accompanied by a brief biographical description
and a first person account of his/her experience.

I hope to ultimately exhibit these photographs in a gallery and
possibly a book. At the present time, I am only looking for veterans
who live/work in the New York City area.

I can be reached at mike@sugrue.com  as well as at (917) 482-9546.
Again, for the time being, I'm looking for people who fought in, or
were otherwise directly affected by, the conflict in the Balkans, and
who live in or around New York City. Please contact me if you have any
questions or would like to participate. All those participating will
receive prints of their pictures. Thanks a lot.
